Howdy! My name is Micayla Sharp and I am the Founder and Fiber Artist behind The Happy Hooker.
I have been crocheting for over 16 years and launched my small business in March 2020. The Happy Hooker is a colorful lifestyle brand offering clothing, accessories, home décor, gifts and more. From crochet to macramé, beading to package design, everything is thoughtfully crafted by me!
My art studio is located in my home in Austin, TX. Our products are inspired by maximalist fashion and retro designs. You'll find a lot of rainbows, daisies, and disco balls reflected in our pieces! We primarily pop-up at artisan markets around Austin, but you can also find Happy Hooker goods in small businesses across the U.S. and Canada.
I have taught over 50 students how to crochet through my "Get Hooked!" crochet class, and also host monthly "Fiber Friends" artist meetups in Austin. Our pieces have been featured in 2 gallery exhibitions in Austin as well.
