Hi Vickie! Thanks for sharing your story with us today! Can you please tell everyone a little about yourself?
Hello! My name is Vickie and I’m a believer, wife, mom and small business owner who loves coffee dates, strolling down the aisles of Target and petting every pup I come across. I was born and raised in Dallas, TX and love being a native Texan and Dallasite. I have 2 dogs, one of which is a rescue, which is why I am so passionate about giving back to Dallas DogRRR, an organization that helps rescue dogs from high kill shelters.
I also enjoying reading, dates with my husband, writing and a good sale.
We love that you give back to rescue pups! This past year has been a tough one. Can you share something good that has come out of this time?
2020 was wild and unexpected, but it truly turned out to be a gift. Everything that came with 2020 allowed me to grow as a person and really dig deep to find courage to keep going – especially with my business. At the time, there was lots of worry and fear, but I realized that The Sweet Hive was helping other people through our messages of hope. As I look back over the year, I’m really proud that I didn’t let fear allow me to quit or give up on my passion.
Tough times are inevitable, but we are strong, and we can get through them and come out stronger on the other side.

The Sweet Hive is an inspirational line of apparel and accessories with a mission to pollinate the world with hope. All tees are screen printed by hand in small batches in our home studio located in Dallas, TX.
At The Sweet Hive, we believe that hope can be deposited into others with kind words, through the act of giving back and by following your calling/dreams.
Our business name and model is borrowed from the bees because we just love how they pollinate into others to help them bloom. We love that they give more than they take! This is who The Sweet Hive strives to be.
We are turning the big 4 this summer!

Powerful words! Aside from visiting MMC, what’s your favorite thing to do in Bishop Arts District?
I absolutely love the vibes of Bishop Arts. My husband and I like to come to have dinner and dessert and hang out and listen to the nightly musicians. I love that Bishop Arts can be a go-to place for a girl’s night, family outing or date night. There is so much to look at and see. Plus, I love that it’s a huge percentage of small businesses.
